* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following counties, southeastern Humboldt, northwestern Mendocino and southwestern Trinity. * WHEN...Until 215 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1112 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through 2 AM. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Laytonville, Alderpoint, Richardson Grove, Redway, Ruth, Leggett, Dinsmore, Bridgeville, Fort Seward, Zenia, Blocksburg, Benbow, Miranda and Piercy. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. |

Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1240 AM PST, local law enforcement reported flooding in the advisory area. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are expected over the area today. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... * WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible. * WHERE...Del Norte County, and Humboldt County. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Information: Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds. |

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the Northern Humboldt Coast, Northern Humboldt Interior, Southern Humboldt Interior and Southwestern Humboldt. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An additional 3 to 10 inches of rain is expected to fall tonight tonight through Friday morning. The heaviest amounts will be in the King Range. ...The Flood Watch is extended for the following rivers in California... Russian River near Hopland affecting Southeastern Mendocino Interior zone. Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Northern Humboldt Coast zone. For the Russian River...including Hopland...flooding is possible. For the Eel River...including Fernbridge...flooding is possible. * WHAT...Flooding is possible. * WHERE...Eel River at Fernbridge. * WHEN...From Thursday evening to late Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Significant flooding of the western portions of Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, the Salt and Old Rivers, and all adjacent low-lying areas. Flooding in these areas is exaggerated when crest timing is coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds, and for longer duration events. A Special Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel Delta. Owners of livestock should consider taking appropriate action to protect livestock. At 22.0 feet, The western half of the Eel Delta may be completely flooded, especially if at or above this level for an extended period of time. This includes areas northwest of Loleta and Cannibal Island Road. A Special Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel River Delta. Owners of livestock should take appropriate action to protect their animals. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 PM PST Wednesday the stage was 2.4 feet. - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: If you are in the watch area, remain alert to possible flooding. Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor rising water levels and be prepared for possible Flood Warnings.
