...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THURSDAY DUE TO WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY RECOVERY FOR NORTH BAY INTERIOR MOUNTAINS AND EAST BAY HILLS... ....Dry and windy conditions combined with some dry vegetation will lead to a critical fire weather threat through Thursday morning... * AFFECTED AREA...East Bay Hills and North Bay Interior Mountains. * TIMING...Until 9 AM PDT Thursday. * WINDS 20 FOOT...Northerly winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY RECOVERY...Thursday morning relative humidity of less than 40 percent. * IMPACTS...Extreme fire behavior and rapid rates of spread likely on new and existing wildfires. There will be an increased risk for power outages. Information: Please advise responding agencies or fire crews in the field of this fire weather alert. Never leave burning debris or camp fires unattended; extinguish them completely. Avoid using equipment or machinery that could create a spark. Secure tow chains to avoid dragging and subsequent sparks. Never toss cigarette butts out of your vehicle's window. Remember, one less spark, one less flame. * WHAT...Up to 1.5 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Bayshore regions near the San Francisco Bay. * WHEN...From 7 PM Thursday to 3 AM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 1.2 ft above normal (6.98 ft MLLW) at 8:51 PM on Thursday the 11th, 1.5 ft above normal (7.33 ft MLLW) at 9:34 PM on Friday the 12th, 1.8 ft above normal (7.58 ft MLLW) at 10:20 PM on Saturday the 13th, 1.3 ft above normal (7.10 ft MLLW) at 11:10 PM on Sunday the 14th, 1.2 ft above normal (7.05 ft MLLW) at 12:02 AM on Tuesday the 16th, and 1.0 ft above normal (6.81 ft MLLW) at 12:56 AM on Wednesday the 17th. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively. Information: If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Hottest conditions across the East Bay Hills and Valleys. * WHERE...The Santa Clara Valley and Eastern Hills, and The East Bay Hills and Valleys. * WHEN...From noon Thursday to 7 PM PDT Friday. * IMPACTS...This level of heat affects primarily those individuals extremely sensitive to heat, especially when outdoors without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts possible in some health systems and in heat-sensitive industries. Information: Hydration is a critical piece to surviving the heat.
